In the annual car of the year, Diesel car magazine named the new Kia Sportage as the “Best Crossover Vehicle.”
The distinction isn’t the first one for Kia’s new compact crossover vehicle in UK. Other awards for the sportage model were also earned overseas. Organisations from Germany, magazines in the USA and South Korea awarded this model with a range of titles.
CarBuyer named Kia Sportage this March, at the Geneva Motor show its inaugural car of the year. Flit news awarded Kia’s popular CUV as the “best crossover of 2011”.
Kia Sportage is the best junior SUV for Total Off Road Magazine, while last November The Association of Scottish Motoring Writers was the first who declared Kia Sportage as the best SUV and the car of the year for 2010.
Michael Cole, the Managing director of Kia UK hopes “that after the launch of our all new 2012 Rio sub-compact car later this year with an outstandingly economical and clean three-cylinder 1.1L diesel engine and the knock-out Optima due before the end of 2011 that we shall be picking up more recognition from January next year. ”
