Hyundai Motors India Ltd. (HMIL) will launch in November 2011 the new Hyundai 800 cc, codenamed as H800 in the Indian market. The Hyundai model will be priced below Santro Xing and it will be taking on India’s highest selling car: Maruto Alto.
The small car of Hyundai is in the final stage of development and is going to be manufactured at the company’s Chennai facility. The 800 cc model is expected to bring major sales for the company, enhancing its market share as well as presence in the country. Concerning the costs, H800 will be priced in the segment of Sub Rs 2 lakh.
Arvin Saxena, the HMIL sales and marketing director declared: “The car will be in the same segment as Alto and is expected to be a major volume player. It has been developed in Korea and will be manufactured at our Chennai plant.”
