Hot News From The 2012 SEMA Auto Show!

We haven’t even erased the Paris grin of our faces that we are already in for another treat: the 2012 SEMA Show! For those of you who are not very familiarized with the insights of this show, here you have some general notions about this lovely event.

This year’s SEMA will take place on October 30th  – November 2nd  at the Las Vegas Convention Center. What better place to have fun with unique concepts if not in Las Vegas, right? Here, some of the greatest minds of “carring” will meet and spend a few fabulous days together, time during which those present here will have the chance to learn many useful things. For example, the attendees will enjoy educational seminars, cool product demonstrations, special events, networking opportunities and many other interesting things. This is to die for!

Unfortunately, the SEMA is a trade-only event and not open to the general public unless they want to leave there with a new best friend. So you will have to check info about it online, instead of actually living the dream. But don’t get discouraged, because this is fantastic too.

Last year, over 60, 000 local and international buyers were present at the show and they had the chance to see a lot of fabulous stuff. ATVs, Korean cars, luxury, muscle, offroad, sports cars, compact, trucks or exotic cars and parts, tools or components.   And speaking about Korean, which I am sure you have been all wanting to see at this show, rumor has it that we will be seeing a couple of good models.

Hyundai is the leader of course with 3 new concepts. At least, this is what we know so far. Ark Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec Track Edition, ARK Veloster “Alpine” and Veloster Velocity Concept.

The former two ones are in partnership with the fabulous ARK Performance. For the first one, these guys decided to upgrade the Genesis Coupe 3.8-liter, direct-injected engine to a fantastic 395 horsepower at 6800 rpm and  340 lb.-ft. at 5400 rpm (axle-flexing). And as you’ve probably already noticed, the exterior is pretty unique in design. They added sporty flared over-fenders, an aggressive front splitter, a carbon-fiber hood with heat-extractor vents, ARK carbon plate clutch kit and dual mass flywheel, Yokohama ADVAN RS2 wheels and Nitto NT05 tires. Stunning!

For the second concept signed by ARK,  a Veloster was used and the boom is in the interior. The theme called Alacantra is destined to the snow lovers and is decorated with leather and WeatherTek breathable fabric, includes bigger brakes, a coilover system, and a practical air motion cup suspension kit.

And last but not least, the Velocity concept is tuned by the guys at Cosworth and among some of its features also adds performance pistons, a great turbocharger, an intercooler, intake manifold and charging design. The engine leads 400 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, while the Kumho Ecsta SPT 275/35R19 high performance summer tires are simply amazing.

This is pretty much all for today folks. But don’t worry, because next week I will come back with fresh and exciting news about the SEMA 2012 Show, Korean cars and many other interesting topics. Stay tuned and enjoy a fabulous weekend!!
