Kia Motors USA will transfer production of Optima mid-size sedan from Asia to West Pont, Georgia. Starting with this fall, the future KIA Optima will be produced at the carmaker’s manufacturing plant from USA.
The plant also produces Kia Sorento and Hyunday Santa Fe.
Group president and CEO from KIA Byung Mo Ahn declared he decided to move Optima at the plant’s production line from West Point, after Sorento CUV was a success in Georgia. Attention, commitment and craftsmanhip are the secrets of each KMMG team member.
The Kia vehicle was the most popular from the US market last year with sales of more than 123500 units. In 2012 with the move of Optima production from South Korea to the US, the stuff from KIA Motors hope to reach nearly 3000 units by the year’s end.
