NOS Control, Advanced NOS, NOS Activation

MAPECU3 contains some of the most advanced NOS control, or NOS activation features available in the market today. MAPECU3 has two (2) NOS control channels with individual NOS activation parameters. For example NOS control channel 1 is the most advanced NOS control channel with a staggering six (6) user configurable parameters. NOS activation channel 2 is less powerful and is modelled after the original MAPECU NOS activation feature released in 2002.

The MAPECU3 also has two (2) completely independent sets of configuration tables which means the user can switch between two (2) different advanced NOS activation strategy’s at the flick of a switch, in real-time. The two (2) independent tables duplicate both advanced NOS activation channel 1 and NOS activation channel 2 making MAPECU3 one of the most advanced NOS control ECU’s available today, let along all the other piggy-back ECU features it offers out of the box. There is nothing more powerful than coupling the MAPECU3 advanced NOS activation technology with it’s speed sensitive launch control with anti-lag to ensure the best launch on the drag strip.

Advanced NOS activation channel one (1) has the following six (6) user configurable input parameters: Minimum RPM, Maximum RPM, Minimum Throttle Position (TPS), Minimum Pressure, Maximum Pressure and Minimum Speed.

NOS activation channel two (2) has the following three (3) user configurable input parameters: Minimum RPM, Maximum RPM and Minimum Throttle Position (TPS).

Below is a description of the MAPECU3 advanced NOS control parameters that be user configured.

Minimum RPM: RPM must be greater than NOS Minimum RPM in order to activate the NOS output. Values of 0-10,000 are valid, provided the value is less than NOS Max RPM.

Maximum RPM: RPM must be less than NOS Max RPM in order to activate the NOS output. Values of 0-10,000 are valid, provided the value is greater than NOS Min RPM.

Minimum Throttle Position: TPS must be greater than NOS Min TPS % in order to activate the NOS output. Values of 0-100 are valid.

Minimum Pressure: Pressure must be greater than Minimum Pressure in order to activate the NOS output. Values of 0-57 PSI can be selected using a pull-down box.

Maximum Pressure: Pressure must be less than Minimum Pressure in order to activate the NOS output. Values of 0-57 PSI can be selected using the pull-down box.

Minimum Speed (Hz): Speed must be greater than Minimum Speed in order to activate the NOS output. Values of 0-250 are valid. A value of zero (0) disables the speed input. V3.5 of MAPCAL3 now allows you to monitor the Speed input to easily define the NOS activation minimum speed.

The MAPECU3 advanced NOS control sub-system output is a digital high current switch. The MAPECU3 has three (3) high current (4A) switched outputs that can be reconfigured to a number of functions. Once the six (6) or (3) parameters for NOS activation channels one (1) or (2) are configured, a corresponding switched output must be configured to the respective function, “NOS1” or “NOS2”. The switched output will them complete a circuit to ground thereby enabling a relay or NOS solenoid to activate NOS. The MAPECU3 advanced NOS activation sub-system is not limited to NOS control. The MAPECU3 advanced NOS control system is universal and can be used to activate other non-NOS related functions, for example intercooler water spray cooling, or a water/methanol injector controller.
