The spaciousness of the fourth-generation Corsa is really something. You feel like you’re operating a pretty big car. However, handling it is just as easy in a built-up are as it is on a motorway. Despite this, they’ve never overstepped it and sitting inn one of these machines feels like it’s the perfect size. With a machine which is so practical and easy to use, you might be suspecting some kind of catch. You can stop holding your breath – the Corsa is very easy on your wallet as well! The three smallest petrol engines it comes in, along with the 1.3 litre diesel, give exceptional efficiency.
All of them are in the third-lowest VED band, which means that you won’t be paying out too much for road tax. If this is a big factor for you, be wary. The SRi and VXR models are both in band F, which makes for significantly higher road tax. If you take the tax question out of it, any of the variants will be highly affordable to operate.
There are a lot of superminis out there, but the servicing costs for Corsas are almost always the cheapest. The initial asking price should be good as well, even if you get it straight from a Vauxhall showroom. Even if you went to a used dealership, you won’t have to worry too much about the functionality of the car.
